How can I pray for missionaries?
You can now contribute to change in the darkest places on earth. Through your prayer, you can support missionaries who are actively working in these places by boldly praying for the lost and imprisoned.
The following prayer requests can help you to do this:
Pray for serenity
Pray for people's hearts to be open to the gospel. Pray for God to make their spiritually blind eyes see, so that they may recognize the gospel that reflects Christ's glory (2 Cor. 4:4-6).
Pray that God will lead them into a community of believers and that they will become disciples who bear much fruit for His glory.
Pray for the people they serve
Pray that they will not be ruled by fear, and remember that God has not given them a spirit of fear, but of power and love and prudence (2Tim 1:7).
Pray that they will be filled with the Holy Spirit to boldly proclaim the gospel, not just in words, but in power (1Th 1:5; 1Cor 2:4).
Pray for protection
Pray for health, especially in places where water is not clean, hygiene is poor, and diseases like malaria are a threat.
Pray that they will be protected from persecution and from any kind of hostility that would endanger their safety and their freedom to preach the gospel.
Pray for endurance, strength, wisdom, peace and joy
Pray for perseverance and strength in the midst of their challenges (Phil 4:13).
Pray for divine wisdom to make decisions, discern God's will and follow His leading (Jas 1:5; Prov 3:5-6; Isa 30:21; Jn 10:27; Phil 2:13).
Pray for them to feel a peace that surpasses all understanding (Phil 4:7) and superhuman joy (Rom 15:13; Phil 4:4) despite difficult circumstances.
Pray for an intimate relationship with Jesus
Pray that, despite their busy schedules, they will consciously seek closeness to Jesus every day and draw closer to Him.
Pray that they will not try to serve in their own strength, but will be filled to overflowing with the Holy Spirit.
